Jose Rizal 101

It's almost 3:30 AM and I'm actually supposed to be studying for my midterm exam on RIZAL011. And since I got bored of reading my handouts, I decided to 'google' (every student's best friend) our national hero, Dr. Jose Protacio Alonso Realonda Mercado Rizal.

And I found this very interesting article entitled, Amazing Facts about Jose Rizal: The National Hero. I'll just share some tidbits I found interesting. If you wat, you could read the whole article in here.

SO, DID YOU KNOW...

...that Jose Rizal could write and read at age two and grew up to speak 22 languages including Latin, Spanish, Catalan, German, French, English, Chinese and Japanese. (If I had known this many languages, I'd speak a different language everyday for almost 3 weeks! coool!)

...that quite unusual for a man about to be executed, but his pulse proved to be normal when the Spanish surgeon general requested to take his pulse moments before Rizal’s execution. (talk about calm...)

...that bizarre as it may seem but there is a religious sect, the Rizalista – members of Cruzado, claims that Jose Rizal is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. (I'd totally believe this if Jesus had the same one-sided hairstyle as Rizal, or the opposite, RIzal having long wavy hair nyahaha!)

...that three animal species were named after Rizal:
Draco rizali, a species of flying dragon,

Rachophorous rizali, a species of toad,

(couldnt find an image) and Apogonia rizali, a beetle species.
(there's actually a flying dragon! now i know...)

...that there are people who are spreading statements that Adolf Hitler of Germany and Mao Zedong of China were sons of Jose Rizal. (don't know about Mao Zedong but I actually believe on Hitler's part, just look at the hair! XD)
little wavy, one-sided to the left
straight, one-sided to the right

Some of these may or may not be true. Regardless, I had fun reading it. :D

blogging: an escape from studying?

It's almost a year since I last logged in to this blog, or any blog for that matter. It's not that I was busy to do it, it's because I'm too lazy to blog, hence the blog name.

So why did I suddenly had the urge to do this now? dun dun! the title says it all.

I'm blogging because I don't want to study. I hate studying. I'm your typical college student, you see. Tomorrow is actually the start of our midterms, and yes, I'm cramming but not really. I'm doing this to waste time and I'm pretty sure later on I'm gonna regret doing this instead of studying. I have so little time left and yet I'm still not finishing this post. I only have one exam to take tomorrow though so this isn't that bad of a situation. I actually wanna blog of things I did today, but nah, kapoy!

So, am gonna end here. Oh and one last thing, isn't my new header cute? I made that today too. I'm mentioned that for it to be appreciated. So appreciate! haha :D
